About The Milies

The idea for a website like this had been in both of our heads for a while. We saw a need for Military Wives to have a trustworthy resource at their disposal so they could ask their questions, get answers and read that others have experienced similar situations and emotions. This was pitched first to a magazine as a monthly column and met with mixed responses. After getting a little frustrated we decided to take matters into our own hands. "Ask The Milies" was born soon after that. We're so excited to provide quality advice on all matters love and military based on our experience of having the toughest job in the service.

We are so excited to announce that Ask The Milies is featured as a weekly column for Blue Star Families! Welcome to all our visitors from BSF and if you have submitted a question to us be sure to check out our column to see your issue featured!

I am Jacqueline. But you probably know me as "Mrs. G.I. Joe." I have been an Army Wife since I was 19 years old. A week after we got married my soldier went to Iraq for a year. Since then we spent the entire first three years of our marriage living apart. I'm blessed to say that now I've had an entire year with the love of my life. No matter what his next orders are or how many more separations we face, our relationship is stronger than ever. Because of our experiences its my mission in life to help Military Wives thrive in their circumstances instead of just simply surviving.

I'm Kerry-Ann. I've been married to my hubby and the Marine Corps for over 11 years now. I've survived way too many deployments than I'd like to remember. My experiences as a Military wife have caused me to become a very resilient individual. Being a military wife is one of the HARDEST jobs I've ever had to do. It's my goal to help fellow Military wives transition as well as blossom in their new found role.
